Old Woman Mountains extend some 35 miles north-south and up to 28 miles in an east-west direction. The elevations within the wilderness extend from 800 feet in the drainage bottoms to over 5300 feet at the top Old Woman Peak.

Camping

Camping is permitted, limited to 14 days. After 14 days, campers must relocate at least 25 miles from previous site.

Pets must be under your control at all times.

Horses are permitted throughout the wilderness area. Bring all needed supplies including water.

Hiking

Hiking

Hiking is permitted throughout the wilderness area.

Hunting

Hunting

Hunting, fishing, and non-commercial trapping are allowed under state and local laws.

Shooting

Shooting

Shooting is permitted where safe and should be conducted well away from other concentrations of people and property.

Please clean up your cartridges and target material.

Glass should not be used. Clay pigeons are discouraged as they're difficult for the user to clean up all debris.

Motor vehicles are not permitted in any wilderness area.
There are several roads designated for motor vehicles are not part of the wilderness area.

Trail Finder Detail

The GPS map progressively increases detail as you zoom in to prevent information overload.

Trail Finder maps are a subset of the GPS map. Trail Finder maps of large regions do not include the lowest zoom levels. In most cases, the GPS map has two more layers of detail than the Trail Finder maps.
