The Jacumba Mountains are a broad range, made up of ridges and intervening valleys. Each successive ridge is lower than the next, creating a great staircase descending dramatically from the peninsular ranges into the Colorado Desert.

Camping

Camping is permitted, limited to 14 days. After 14 days, campers must relocate at least 25 miles from previous site. Please set up camp in previously disturbed sites.

Pet are allowed and must be under your control at all times.

Equestrian

Equestrian

Horses are permitted. Bring all needed supplies including water.

Hiking

Hiking

Hiking is permitted throughout the wilderness area.

Hunting

Hunting

Hunting, fishing, and non-commercial trapping are allowed under state and local laws.

Shooting

Shooting

Shooting is permitted in most of the wilderness area with the exception of the areas detailed in the BLM map at the link below.

Please clean up your cartridges and target material.

Glass should not be used. Clay pigeons are discouraged as they're difficult for the user to clean up all debris.

Trail Finder Detail

The GPS map progressively increases detail as you zoom in to prevent information overload.

Trail Finder maps are a subset of the GPS map. Trail Finder maps of large regions do not include the lowest zoom levels. In most cases, the GPS map has two more layers of detail than the Trail Finder maps.
