Camping

Camping is permitted at several developed campsites outside of the wilderness areas. Reservations are recommended. A permit is required to camp outside of designated campgrounds.

Pets are not permitted on trails but they are permitted in developed areas (picnic areas, campgrounds, roads).

Equestrian

Equestrian

Horseback riding is permitted on designated trails.

Fishing

Fishing

Fishing is permitted during the season; a California fishing license is required for ages 16 & up. Get copies of park-specific regulations at any visitor center.

Hiking

Hiking is permitted throughout the park.

Trail Finder Detail

The GPS map progressively increases detail as you zoom in to prevent information overload.

Trail Finder maps are a subset of the GPS map. Trail Finder maps of large regions do not include the lowest zoom levels. In most cases, the GPS map has two more layers of detail than the Trail Finder maps.
